Mexar welcomes its newest recruit

Mexar is excited to welcome Dr Brunella Maranesi to their technical team. Brunella joins the Mexar team fresh from completing her PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Durham University.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Brunella to the ink development team at Mexar – it was clear through the interview process how much knowledge Brunella holds within polymer chemistry and we look forward to the start of her career within Mexar," commented Dr Andy Hancock, Technical Director of Mexar.

Mexar to present at InPrint 2016

Dr Andy Hancock of Mexar will give a presentation at InPrint 2016 titled ‘Functional water based pigment inks for industrial applications and the early adoption into single pass technology’.

“It is a pleasure to present a talk within the surface decoration session of the Inprint talks,” explains Andy Hancock. “The area of aqueous inkjet within the industrial sector is a hot topic at the moment and InPrint is the perfect event to discuss this topic in greater detail.”

Mexar join consortium for development of anti-microbial textile treatments

Mexar is delighted to announce its successful inclusion in the consortium group aimed at developing anti-microbial textile inks and treatments for the healthcare sector.

The so-called 'ACTIN' project is jointly funded between the UK and Mexican governments through Innovate UK.

“Mexar is extremely happy to be included in this fascinating area of technical textiles. Mexar’s involvement will be in the formulation of novel inkjet inks including nano-particles that have inherent anti-microbial properties,” explains Roger Tirrell, Commercial Director of Mexar. “We look forward to working on this project for the next two years and hope that it leads to a significant reduction in the spread of super bugs within the healthcare sector.”

Mexar and Valinge present new technology at IMI Europe Inkjet Conference

Mexar Ltd and Valinge Innovation are presenting at IMI Europe’s 2015 Inkjet Conference with a talk titled ‘Single pass printing of aqueous pigmented inks into powder substrates – a novel approach for the inkjet industry’.

Dr Andy Hancock of Mexar and Marcus Bergelin of Valinge will present the findings of a joint development project undertaken by the two companies.

“We are extremely excited to present at IMI Europe’s flagship event,” commented Andy Hancock. “It is a great forum to describe the technology we have created with Valinge and show it to the wider inkjet community.”
